Bevel Placement and Frame Compatibility in Lens Edging

Bevel placement is a critical aspect of optical lens edging. The bevel is the angled edge that allows the lens to seat securely within the frame groove. Incorrect bevel placement can cause lens movement or frame distortion.

Different frame styles require different bevel configurations. Full-rim frames use standard bevels, while semi-rimless frames require precise grooving. Rimless frames require drilling with exact alignment.

Advanced edgers allow technicians to customize bevel position based on lens thickness and frame curvature. This ensures optimal aesthetics and stability.

Proper beveling enhances wearer comfort and prolongs frame lifespan.
