Meet Our Team of Educators

Ms. Zoie
Owner/Director
"I have been the Director and Owner of Hobbledehoy since March 1990! I started in the child care field in 1971. After serving in the Peace Corps I obtained my Masters in Education with a focus in the Theory and Practice of the Montessori Method. As well as obtaining my American Montessori Society (AMS) School Accreditation. It was always my desire to work in early childhood education. Opening my own school enabled me the opportunity to apply my training, education and musical talents to generations of children and their families. My amazing staff and our great community of Hobbledehoy families continues to inspire me!"

Ms. Kim
Pre-K Teacher/Asst. Director
"I have been a part of the Hobbledehoy Community since 2010. First as a parent, Hobbledehoy was my daughter’s first “Big Girl” school, therefore, I easily understand the parent perspective. While getting my B.S. in Business Psychology, I began volunteering at Hobbledehoy through my university’s community enrichment program in 2012. I soon realized that I had found my calling and joined the ‘official’ staff in 2014. I later earned an A.A. in Child and Adolescent Development to further my knowledge of early childhood education. I took over the Pre-K teaching position in early 2022 and am excited to continue to teach while also learning and growing with the children at Hobbledehoy!"

Ms. Wendy
Teacher’s Aide/Spanish Instruction
"I became a part of the Hobbledehoy community in May 2022. I have 22 units in Early Childhood Education and I am currently attending Foothill College to earn my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a first generation Mexican-American and attended a bilingual school throughout my childhood which led me to become fluent in Spanish. During my early college journey I learned the importance of nurturance, care, education and community. This led me to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. I am glad to be a part of the Hobbledehoy community and I look forward to continuing my career in early childhood education!"

"The hand is the instrument of intelligence. The child needs to manipulate objects and to gain experience by touching and handling"
